Day 10: Today’s featured Christmas tree can be found at the Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai. Displayed in one of the prettiest areas of the hotel (which happens to be one of the oldest in the city), the tree sits in the atrium off the lobby. When you’re not taking in the glittering tree, look around to see the white marble floors and sprawling silver murals of Shanghai. It’s especially nice during the day, when the light shines in from the domed ceiling, spreading warmth throughout the space and adding to the holiday cheer.
