Day 9: The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia goes all out when it comes to holiday decorating—wreaths, white twinkle lights and big red bows are delicately placed throughout the property. In the lobby, there’s a child-size gingerbread house and giant toy soldiers. But the main attraction is the grand 25-foot-tall Christmas tree, with more than 1,000 ornaments. Lit during the hotel’s 25th Annual Tree Lighting ceremony at the end of November, the tree stays on display until January 9.
