Perched between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, The Diplomat Beach Resort has played host to A-listers searching for sunshine since it first opened its doors in 1958. And thanks to a $100 million renovation in 2017, the 10-acre waterfront resort is more extravagant than ever.
At this reinvented beach resort, luxury meets leisure with a tropical throwback design and plenty of fun in the sun for all ages.
Here are three reasons to check into The Diplomat right now.
Reimagined Rooms
Thanks to the resort’s refresh, each of the 1,000 guest rooms and suites has been reimagined in one of two idyllic color schemes. Opt for a sunrise-themed room to enjoy vibrant décor with ocean-blue accents or go for the sunset-toned accommodation for a more modern stay that echoes those gorgeous South Florida evening skies.
For a last-minute getaway, ask about The Diplomat’s Spontaneous Stays offer. Since January, the deluxe resort has been featuring a special rate on Intracoastal View Guestrooms on specific days. So even if you’re a poor planner, you can still be sure to enjoy a posh retreat with deep-soaking tubs, C.O. Bigelow bath products, 55-inch HDTVs with Google Chromecast streaming services and skyline vistas.
While it’s not a guarantee that the offer will continue throughout the rest of the year, sources tell us there’s good chance it will. Be sure to call and ask.
Over-the-Top Eats
One of nine onsite culinary destinations, Diplomat Prime is known for its house-aged wagyu steaks, duck fat fries and fine wines. While the 1950s-inspired steakhouse is beloved for its opulent offerings, it’s the off-menu item that’s dropping jaws: a luscious wagyu burger paired with a glass of California cabernet or bordeaux. The $100-plus delicious duo is only available at the bar.
If burgers don’t whet your palate, perhaps The Royal Brunch at Point Royal by Food Network personality and Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian will. On Sundays, head to the indoor-outdoor venue to indulge in a lavish spread featuring favorites like an incredible raw bar (stone crab claws included), a carving station, cheese and charcuterie, breakfast hashes and homestyle dishes such as fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and mac and cheese.
Look out for the charming Bloody Mary cart rolling table to table, outfitted with all the toppings (don’t skimp on the bacon strips) and sauces you need to create an over-the-top cocktail.
New Ways to Unwind
Think
of the recently revamped Diplomat Spa + Wellness as your one-stop shop for vacation
relaxation. Reopened in April with a lighter and brighter aesthetic, the 14,000-square-foot
retreat will make a spa-goer out of you, if you aren’t one already.
The journey begins with a warm welcome from a wellness concierge and a new scent and sound experience that sets the tone for a serene service.
Choose from a spa menu designed around the eight elements: fire, water, earth, air, nature, ice, light and darkness. Treatments might utilize natural enhancements like rose quartz crystals, CBD oil, gemstone facial rollers and a cool O2 oxygen chair. You even can get your tarot cards read and chakras balanced, too.
Yogis can catch a sunrise or full moon yoga session on the sun-drenched sands with the Atlantic as a scenic backdrop. Don’t forget to stop by the Wellness Market Place to pick up some pampering souvenirs. Look out for bath and body products in the spa’s new coconut-mango signature scent.
