A city that prides itself on sensory overload, Las Vegas also boasts some of the world’s best places to chill out. Opulent spas, wellness retreats and hidden sanctuaries abound to provide a pleasant respite from the frenetic action of the Strip.

Whether you have an hour or two to while away or have set aside a full day for relaxation, an innovative massage, facial, oracle reading or chakra balancing is only a phone call away at these serene Sin City spots.

The Spa at Encore Las Vegas

Be sure to block out an entire day to give yourself sufficient time to luxuriate at this exquisite Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star spot.

This spa is light, bright and easy on the eyes with soft cream and gold hues — Four-Star Encore at Wynn Las Vegas’ butterfly motif flutters across pillows and the atrium’s curvilinear illuminated ceiling. Even with 51 treatment rooms (including 14 garden villas), you will feel this is your exclusive space to decompress with thermal and aquatic amenities that run the gamut from invigorating to cleansing.

With influences from Morocco, Polynesia and Asia, the international menu of services has been developed by therapists and aestheticians who practice them, therefore, making things unique to this spa.

One of the highlights is the Kohinoor Ayurveda Facial, which builds radiance from within. Drawing upon traditional techniques from India, this 80-minute offering includes an oxygenating mask and a warm application of shirodhara oil that saturates the forehead and scalp. As the oil is streamed onto the third-eye chakra, intuition and foresight come into play, awakening calmness and quieting tension and worry. It is recommended to leave the oil on for several hours to enjoy its maximum hydrating properties.

And because the feet are considered the gateway to all your chakras, a small metal bowl is massaged onto the soles, realigning the body, improving circulation and restoring energy.

This intimate two-story space touches all the senses, from its thermal experiences designed to loosen muscles to soothing sounds of cascading water in the meditation room that eases the mind.

The Five-Star retreat offers a range of treatments that focus on holistic wellness, each accompanied by a personalized evaluation that ensures the service matches up to what you need most.

A divine place to start is with the ESPA Signature Experience, a 160-minute blend of the spa’s two most popular treatments: the On the Rocks massage and ProFacial. Kick off the indulgence with body brushing and exfoliation followed by a full-body massage with volcanic stones. A scalp rub completes the journey into total relaxation. The ProFacial leaves your skin looking and feeling renewed with a skin analysis, deep brush cleanse, steam and extraction, a mask and facial massage. Once you’ve covered the essentials, check out some of the more playful services on the menu, including the Face Off and Power Play treatments inspired by the city’s professional hockey team, the Vegas Golden Knights.

At this Four-Star hideaway within Forbes Travel Guide Recommended The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas,a day at the spa can be as simple or as grandiose as you desire.

If you have a few hours to dedicate to your well-being, start with a Yoga:Blend class in The Chelsea Fitness Center (adjacent to the spa) to get the blood flowing. Then awaken the senses with an 80-minute Sahra Desert Aromatherapy Massage, using Sankaya essential oils (such as oregano and rosemary) that bring in the scents and healing powers of the desert landscape. The oils are plentifully applied to key points, like the spine and feet, as a therapist performs a personalized bodywork sequence that sweeps you away into a meditative state.

If you prefer to spend your spa day with friends, take advantage of the Sahra Spa Penthouse Suite, which has a private treatment room, showers, whirlpool tubs and catering options that turn relaxing into reveling — all accessible by private elevator.

Cap all this off with a hydrating IV at Reviv, a spot that’s in the resort but not in the spa. A host of intravenous treatments and shots cater to needs ranging from jetlag and immunity boosting to anti-aging and energy infusions.

New on the scene this summer, this three-story facility was conceived with a New Age theme in mind, focusing on astrology, tarot and oracle readings. Overlooking the resort’s day/nightclub Kaos are 15 treatment rooms, four skincare studios, two couple’s suites, men’s and women’s eucalyptus steam rooms, saunas and water and social lounges.

Start off with a 50-minute Oracle Reflection and Chakra Balancing Treatment. As you lie on the massage table, tarot cards are placed under hand and you pick seven to represent each of the chakras. Crystals are put down your body and affirmations are given to heal and repair what is out of balance based on the reading. While this is not technically a body treatment, you’ll leave feeling centered, happy and reflective from all of the positive energy flowing from head to toe.

Follow this cleansing vibe with a massage based on your astrological sign that’s enhanced with extras like moon-charged crystals, essential oils and chakra-balancing techniques. Water signs like pisces, scorpio and cancer, for example, might enjoy Enlightening Therapy, which strengthens the heart chakra with scents of patchouli, bergamot and lavender, and gemstones like blue chalcedony, amber and sodalite.
