Babymoon Like A Royal At These European Hotels

The recent birth of Prince George of Cambridge, son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, has garnered plenty of global attention and fanfare. And the little royal’s arrival sparked hotels around the world — especially in Europe — to launch special offerings for mothers-to-be, no crown necessary. From the coasts of Ireland to the streets of Florence, here are three hotels with luxe expectant parent offerings to book now.

      The Dorchester, London, England

This London property reigns supreme in top-notch service — after all, it’s a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel. Located in the city’s prestigious Mayfair area, The Dorchester’s suites (the 14 Dorchester Suites, eight new Park Suites or the Penthouse Suite) offer a slew of amenities meant to soothe soon-to-be parents. Upon arrival, your suite can be stocked with your personal pregnancy cravings and a chef can prepare a customized menu, including mocktails such as the Milky Way (lemongrass, lychee, lemon juice, Rose’s Lime Juice Cordial and soda water) or the Mango Crush (fresh mango, pineapple, peach and passion fruit juice). Educate yourself with a baby-friendly cooking class where you’ll learn to create organic baby food at home, or indulge in a bit of pampering with a hair and make-up consultation.

      Hotel Continentale, Florence, Italy

Retreat to a 17th-century tower in Florence for a babymoon at Hotel Continentale, a charming boutique hotel that’s part of the Lungarno Collection (owned by the Ferragamo family). When you book the special babymoon package, you’ll experience a three-night stay at the boutique property along with special parents-to-be spa treatments. Moms will wash away worries with the soothing Sublime Feet treatment at the hotel’s White Iris Spa. The relaxing experience — a nod to the legendary shoemaker Salvatore Ferragamo — includes a pedicure with gentle exfoliation, a nourishing mask and a gentle foot and leg massage to top it all off. But let’s not forget about the dad-to-be. Men can book a classic whole body massage that’s meant to aid with circulation and sore muscles. Moms can also arrange for a private shopping excursion to the city’s Salvatore Ferragamo store, less than a five-minute walk from the hotel.

The Lodge at Doonbeg, Doonbeg, Ireland

With its picturesque location along Doughmore Bay on the west coast of Ireland, The Lodge at Doonbeg feels private and romantic — making it the ultimate spot for expectant parents to spend time together before their new arrival. The sprawling property’s White Horses Spa, which incorporates local ingredients such as basalt stone and native arctic plants from the nearby Burren region, offers a variety of spa treatments for moms-to-be. The Soothing Tummy treatment combats stretch marks with hydrating techniques such as a concentrated serum and deep treatment mask, and you’ll also receive a lower leg and foot massage for added comfort. Or opt for the Gaelic Goddess Body Scrub, which involves a gentle exfoliating scrub, moisturizing massage (to help with skin elasticity) and calming scalp massage.
