If you’re headed to Morocco anytime soon, you’re in luck: Delano Marrakech has officially opened. The new luxury hotel, located in the Hivernage district of the country’s capital city, is the first international outpost for the Delano brand. Blending modern design with traditional Moroccan touches, the property will provide a soothing respite from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.
Upon check-in, an airy lobby featuring a hand-carved wooden ceiling, a skylight and striking white columns will greet you. Guest rooms are bathed in rich colors of purple and red and sport brilliant headboards painted by local artist Noureddine Daifallah.
You’ll be able to relax on one of the circular daybeds by the outdoor pool, and then head to the timber rooftop deck at Sky Lounge for a pre-dinner cocktail. Both spots boast unbeatable views of the Medina, Red City and Atlas Mountains.
When it comes time for a meal, you can try one of the hotel’s various restaurants, including the Italian eatery Pomiroeu. If the name sounds familiar, that’s because the original — and very popular — spot from famed chef Giancarlo Morelli is located in Italy. You can also grab a bite at Namazake, the hotel’s indoor/outdoor sushi restaurant, or the French-focused Bon R, which will open in October.
Other notable amenities include complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi, as well as in-room iPads from which you can order room service or book treatments at the hotel’s 20,000-square-foot Pearl Spa.
