Turns out, alcohol can help you relax in more ways than one. From the exfoliating effects of a grape vine to the intoxicating smells of margaritas and whiskey, check out three spa treatments that are good enough to drink:
Honey and Wine Wrap at Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa at The Plaza Hotel. A warm blend of honey and wine yeast will moisturize and soothe your skin, while an actual glass of vino will erase all your worries post-treatment in the spa’s wine lounge. (Tip: Ask if you can test the blend before it’s applied; it’s all natural and surprisingly tasty.) We recommend topping off any treatment at this wine-centric spa with a dip in the barrel bath. You’ll spend 15 minutes in a barrel that’s bubbling with either red vine (for circulatory benefits) or grape vine (for exfoliating powers), while a therapist treats you to a sedative head massage.
Dean’s Margarita Salt Glow at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Dallas. During this 80-minute treatment, you’ll be scrubbed and massaged with margarita salt. If you want to do more than smell the salts, check out the Key Lime Margarita Pedicure at Spa Terre at Little Palm Island, where you’ll be served an actual margarita mid-treatment (word is, if you ask nicely, you can get a second).
Men’s Bourbon Retreat at Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. This manicure-pedicure treatment was designed with whiskey-loving men in mind. Kick back as you soak your hands and feet in molten bourbon. Afterwards, you’ll be scrubbed with the Bourbon Bubbler, a blend of brown sugar and Kentucky whiskey. In between the standard buffing and cuticle cutting, you’ll be treated to a moisturizing massage with velvety cream.
