Last Friday something we’ve been waiting on for months finally happened: Four Seasons Toronto opened as the new flagship of the luxury chain (in its Canadian hometown no less). This modern stunner located in the Yorkville neighborhood welcomed its first guests with all the luxe trappings you’d expect from Four Seasons, including 259 guest rooms, a 30,000-square foot spa, a sky-high sunlit indoor pool and a restaurant and bar by star chef Daniel Boulud.
But Four Seasons Toronto isn’t the only opening this fall — three more hot hotels are set to debut, too. Miami’s historic Royal Palm hotel has been transformed into the cool, contemporary The James Royal Palm on Collins Avenue. The property is scheduled to open in late October with two outdoor pools, a new nightclub (SL Miami) and two new scenery restaurants.
The hip and the well-heeled have been waiting on Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht to open in a former library in the Jordaan district for months. This high-design spot is set to debut in late October and will have 122 guest rooms, video art instillations, complimentary mini-bars, a spa, restaurant and a lounge.
And while it may have missed the Olympics, The Wellesley in London will likely make a splash when it opens in December. A former townhouse in Knightsbridge, The Wellesley will debut as a boutique hotel with 36 rooms and a contemporary take on the building’s Art Deco heritage. The most anticipated feature? The Cigar Lounge, which will have a heated outdoor terrace and one of the largest selections of cigars in the world.
