The Plaza Hotel may be known for its beloved fictional resident Eloise, but a new set of children’s storybook characters are moving in. The hotel recently partnered with Mary Pope Osborne’s popular Magic Tree House series, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, making the deal all the more fitting.
Kids who visit the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel will be able to experience a variety of special offerings that will change seasonally, all of which will be aimed at encouraging a passion for reading while exploring New York City. The current package — which launched on December 14 — centers on Magic Tree House book No. 40, Eve of the Emperor Penguin. Aspiring adventurers will receive the Magic Tree House Fact Tracker: Penguins and Antarctica, an explorer pin to wear throughout his or her stay and a Magic Tree House Plaza Passport to collect stamps before heading to Central Park Zoo to see the penguins and other animals from Antarctica.
Rates for the “Magic Tree House” Emperor Penguin package start at $920 for one-night accommodations in a deluxe room or suite. And if that cool journey isn’t enough for your young traveler, other books from the series will be available for purchase in the Eloise at The Plaza shop.
