We just got back from The St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, Calif. The expansive 172-acre property offered standout views of the Pacific and some of the best service we’ve experienced at a Five-Star hotel.
We had a chance to check out one of the two 3,100-square-foot Presidential Suites. We liked its multiple terraces, the discreet butler’s entrance and pantry and the baby grand, but we could not take our eyes off of the original artwork. There’s a simple silhouette line drawing by Picasso above the fireplace and before walking into the master bedroom, you’ll see the abstract painting by Miró in the hallway. Pictured above was our favorite piece in the suite, a painting by Chagall that hangs in the living room.
