We just got back from a jaunt around the nation’s capital, and there was plenty to see, do and drink. At The Jefferson — ideally located just four blocks from the White House — we got to check out the ultra-luxe private wine cellar inside its restaurant, Plume. The cellar houses just under 1,500 bottles of wine and more than 1,300 labels. Choose among more than 50 vintages in stock, some of which Thomas Jefferson enjoyed himself. And if you’re in the mood to learn more, sommelier Michael Scaffidi organizes special wine classes that examine vintages, decanting and tasting in the cellar, too.
