The doors open today for the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco’s luxury spa and gym. The 8,000-square-foot space is located on the hotel’s third floor and focuses on holistic, Asian-inspired treatments you won’t find anywhere else in the city, including signature spa therapies developed by specialists trained in traditional Chinese medicine and aromatherapy.

To see more new luxury spas, check out Hotel Bel-Air Spa by La Prairie, The Trump Spa New York and The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta.

Choose from several massage options, including the signature 60-minute Oriental Essence, which utilizes essential oils custom blended for the Mandarin Oriental, or the 110-minute Oriental Harmony treatment, which includes two therapists.

A variety of other services are available as well, including specialty facials, body wraps and scrubs, gentlemen’s packages, pregnancy treatments, and hand and foot care. Your spa day can be tailored to your specific needs by booking a Time Ritual journey.

The four new treatment rooms—including a deluxe couple’s suite—feature neutral palettes and understated Asian design elements. Chocolate-colored furnishings and soft goods are highlighted by gold accents and museum-quality art. The same design scheme is repeated in the San Francisco spa’s tea lounge, which provides a quiet spot to unwind with a cup of the signature tea before being escorted to your treatment room.

Here’s an incentive to try out the new spa: Today through Nov. 16, book an 80-minute rejuvenating body massage and you will receive a complimentary signature Mandarin Oriental Quintessence Body Scrub, and those who go for a specialized facial will get a free revitalizing eye treatment.
