The golfing and luxury travel worlds have raved about Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star The Resort at Pelican Hill for years. Some outlets gush over the stunning, waterfront layout. Others haven’t stopped talking about the Tom Fazio-designed golf courses. But decide for yourself at the Newport Coast hotel’s courses. With Pelican Hill’s list of seasonal packages, golfers of all skill levels have their chance to take in the sights while working on their swings.
Players who have a couple of days of freedom will be intrigued by the Fazio Unlimited Package, a deal going on through the end of 2013 that not only provides bungalow or villa accommodations for two days, but also comes with endless rounds on the three award-winning courses — Pelican Hill’s Ocean North, Ocean South and Oak Creek — golf carts, club rentals and complimentary valet parking. If your game needs a bit more direction, there’s also the Two-Day Weekend Golf Academy Package that features 14 hours of instruction in a small class setting, one 18-hole session with Southern California PGA Teacher of the Year Glenn Deck, lunch and two nights at the resort.
But as enticing as an overnight golf getaway sounds, Pelican Hill knows every player won’t be able to do it. For those swingers who are short on tee time, there are Pelican Hill Golf Academy programs starting in April that range from 30-minute clinics and putting practices to more in-depth ball-striking instructions and half-day chipping schools. In other words, if you’re a golfer who doesn’t see something that sounds interesting, you probably need to take your eyes off the beautiful resort and take a closer look at the class schedule.
