It’s not too soon to begin planning a late summer getaway, especially since Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel The Broadmoor announced plans for a new addition to open in August. Its new rustic retreat is called The Ranch at Emerald Valley, and it offers ample opportunity to truly get away from it all. Located eight miles from The Broadmoor itself (guests can request transport to and from the main resort), The Ranch consists of 10 private log cabins ensconced by 100,000 acres of Pike National Forest. Choose from between one and three bedrooms and snuggle in complete privacy by the warmth of their wood-burning stoves.
When you aren’t in your Colorado Springs hotel, your day can be spent hiking, biking or fly fishing throughout the crisp Rocky Mountain wilderness. Then, relax in your luxurious outdoor hot tub and take in the clear views.
Meals, which are included as part of your stay, can be enjoyed at The Grand Lodge, which will feature a large campfire-like stone fireplace and terrace. The Ranch will be open seasonally, May through October.
