Join acclaimed chefs Mario Batali and Lidia Bastianich at the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Del Posto for “Masters at the Table, An Evening With Mario & Lidia” on April 29. Presented as a duel between menus, the Del Posto owner-partner duo will serve five courses crafted around specific ingredients, each uniquely prepared in a fashion that shows off the chefs’ individual styles and techniques.
The ingredients for each dish include lobster for the antipasti, peas for the primi, Bolognese for the primo course, beef in the secondo course and doughnuts in the dolce finale. Guests will be served 10 dishes from both Batali’s and Bastianich’s menus that are specially paired with Italian wines by Del Posto’s wine director, Jeffrey Porter. The traditional Bastianich will have selections ranging from insalata di arragosta (lobster salad) for the first to a sweet gnocchi with plum ice cream for dessert. The fun, playful Batali will counter with lobster crudo with ramps and Meyer lemon for starters and will offer bomboloni (a filled, Italian doughnut) at the end of the meal.
