Suite Life: Skylofts At MGM Grand
By Forbes Travel Guide Correspondent Caroline Patek

      December 9, 2011

The Five-Star Skylofts at MGM Grand is the ultimate VIP destination in Las Vegas. Perched on the top two floors of MGM Grand, the exclusive and ultra luxurious Skylofts offers unmatched personal service and attention to detail. To start, Skylofts has special clearance with Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport. That means a hotel staff member can greet you right at your gate and whisk you away to the hotel in a spiffy Maybach — forget about maneuvering your luggage around the airport or waiting in line for a taxi .

When you arrive at Skylofts, you’ll get a metropolitan feel once you step into your Tony Chi-designed suite. New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, London…the suite design has taken inspiration from almost every major city to create an urban loft atmosphere. The design is chic yet comfortable, with earth tones, plush bedding and high-tech gadgets. Need a snack at 3 a.m.? Your butler is on it. How about extra pillows? Not a problem. Want to plan a small dinner party in your loft? It’s one phone call away. The personal 24-hour butler service is available at your fingertips and is what sets Skylofts apart from other luxury hotels (and suites) on the Las Vegas Strip. Of course, living in the lap of luxury doesn’t come cheap.

Prices for the lofts start at $1,700 per night and can make their way up to $10,000. But with a Jacuzzi infinity tub — where champagne-like bubbles burst out of the jets — in every full bathroom, a shower that doubles as a steam room and the option of adding a foosball or pool table in the three-bedroom lofts, we think Skylofts is well worth the hefty price tag.
