New York City was made for love — picture strolling along Fifth Avenue, taking a carriage ride in Central Park, kissing in the middle of Times Square and declaring your love from the Empire State Building’s observation deck. But where can you go to stay at the most romantic places in the Big Apple? In the spirit of falling in love this autumn, we’ve rounded up a list of five enchanting hotel suites in the city that never sleeps.

      The Greenwich Hotel

Every room at this Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel in Tribeca is exquisitely decorated with Tibetan silk rugs and charming antiques. The two Fireplace Corner suites also have hand-carved moldings inspired by Parisian parlors, reclaimed chestnut beam floors, strié painted walls, stone gas fireplaces in the living/dining room and gorgeous Carrara marble bathrooms with enclosed soaking tub alcoves. All you have to do is run the bath and order room service from Locanda Verde, the casual Italian neighborhood restaurant on the ground floor. Sneak out of your private sanctuary only for a visit to the hotel’s underground Japanese spa to swim in the lantern-lit pool, enjoy a session in the shiatsu room or take a soak in the traditional bathing room.

      Crosby Street Hotel

Manhattan will seem less urban jungle and more English garden when you stay at this Four Star’s Meadow suite. The one-bedroom suite combines owner Kit Kemp’s fresh décor with floor-to-ceiling warehouse-style windows and patio doors leading out to your own private garden, complete with more than 50 varieties of flowering plants. Staff will unpack and press your clothes, place fresh flowers in your room, customize your mini bar and set meals up on the terrace, making it the ideal fall fling. Should you ever leave your romantic paradise, there’s a delightful afternoon tea, dinner and movie nights in the hotel’s 99-seat screening room, and scarlet drawing room with honor bar.

      Gramercy Park Hotel

Gramercy Park Hotel exudes sexiness, from its dimly lit crimson corridors, museum-worthy art and coveted key access to New York City’s only private park. For the most sumptuous digs within the exclusive boho-chic encampment, book the hotel’s penthouse suite. The lavish pied-à-terre overlooks the park and features custom plastered lime walls, a mahogany wood ceiling, original Stanford White fireplace, beautiful antiques and a series of photographs curated by artist and filmmaker Julian Schnabel. Cozy up in the library with a glass of wine followed by dinner from Danny Meyer’s trattoria Maialino in your own private dining room. Accentuate the magic with the hotel’s “Penthouse Suite Life” package that runs through the end of the year and includes champagne upon arrival, breakfast in your room and exclusive access to the chic Rose Bar.

      Mandarin Oriental, New York

For some of the most romantic views in the city, book one of the Mandarin Oriental’s Central Park View suites. The Five-Star’s spacious rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows and sweeping views of the park, as well as sleek décor and soaker tubs. While there, be sure to secure Five-Star The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, New York’s VIP suite, which has its own impressive views, elevated bath tub and two massage beds for side-by-side pampering. A table at Four-Star Asiate on the 35th floor is definitely set for romance, and a drink afterwards in the sexy MO Bar will further set the mood for love.

      The Library Hotel

The Love Room at The Library Hotel may be a cozy 300 square feet, but it’s constantly booked for anniversaries, honeymoons and romantic tete-a-tetes thanks to its collection of nearly 100 books on love curated by Dr. Ruth Westheimer. It also has a private terrace overlooking Madison Avenue and the New York Public Library. Through the end of the year, the Erotica Package seals the deal with a bottle of Champagne, one dozen roses, an assortment of Belgian chocolates, two plush Library Hotel signature bathrobes and a Kama Sutra Romance Kit packed with massage oil, bubble bath, a copy of the Kama Sutra and more goodies.
