Officially, the dress code at Capitol Grille, The Hermitage Hotel‘s signature restaurant, is business casual, but even the savviest diners can have trouble cracking that code.
Since Nashville is a rather casual city — jeans and cowboy boots are standard — the attire for a meal at this Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star restaurant follows suit. On a recent visit, many people in our party donned jeans with a nice blouse and we fit right in.
We don’t suggest going to dinner with an old pair of torn-up jeans and a T-shirt, but you don’t have to dress to the nines. It’s a very comfortable atmosphere (far from stuffy) and the diners’ outfits reflect that.
Of course, it is a fine-dining restaurant in a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel, so you certainly will see a handful of guests dressed to impress. Bottom line: Gentlemen, sport a nice pair of jeans or slacks and a polo or button down (no jacket necessary); ladies, wear a dressy pair of jeans with a cute blouse or a somewhat casual dress or skirt.
