Forbes Travel Guide announced its 2015 Star Award-winning properties back in February, tallying the best of the best from thousands of hotels around the globe. If you’re looking for a good excuse to visit one of them this spring, it might be wise to check out the offerings at these five Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star standouts.

      The Wauwinet, Nantucket
Many people think of Nantucket as a warm-weather escape, but we love this charming cottage in the spring, when crowds are smaller and the historic hotel, which backs to Coskata-Coatue Wildlife Refuge, feels practically private. Starting when the property re-opens May 6, stay overnight and enjoy breakfast for two, as well as a special four-course dinner for a reduced rate. Of course, eating isn’t the hotel’s only pastime. Other popular amenities include two clay tennis courts, complimentary bicycles and tours in The Wauwinet’s 1947 Chevy Woody.

      Napa River Inn
This 66-room retreat oozes historic charm – from the location in the former Historic Napa Mill to the bricks made from Napa River clay. When you and your significant other visit, you won’t go wrong with their Romance package, a deal that comes complete with chocolate-dipped strawberries, champagne and breakfast in bed from nearby Sweetie Pies bakery. We also adore the Wine Train overnight promotion, which includes round-trip transportation from San Francisco via a ferry and shuttle, a gourmet lunch on the Napa Valley Wine Train, in-room breakfast from Sweetie Pies bakery, bike rentals and two wine-tasting cards, which give tasting privileges at 12 nearby wineries.

      The Surrey, New York City
Valentine’s Day has long passed, but that doesn’t mean the affection needs to end. Bunk down in this elegant Upper East Side escape and enjoy the Uptown Romantic Retreat, a promotion filled with salon or suite accommodations, a private appointment at designer lingerie atelier Journelle, treats from Vosges Haut-Chocolat, champagne and two massages in the couple’s suite at the posh Cornelia Spa. With this much passion in the Manhattan air, there’s no reason April 14 or August 14 can’t be as memorable as February 14.

      Lumière Telluride
There’s much to love about the boutique chic Lumière Telluride, from its ski-in, ski-out Mountain Village location to its 29 residential-style rooms and suites. Make the most of your trip to Telluride with the Ski & Soak six-night package, which includes three nights in a one-bedroom residence with daily breakfast for two, three days of ski passes, ski rentals with in-room boot fittings and valet ski service. Then, transfer to the equally luxe Dunton Hot Springs for three more nights in a cabin with all-inclusive accommodations and opportunities to take a dip in the therapeutic hot springs and go horseback riding.

      MGM Grand Detroit
Live large in Detroit. The MGM provides Vegas-style fun without the overflowing sidewalks, and its Grand Player package lets you get a high-roller experience without needing a second mortgage on your house. The overnight deal offers $50 per person in complimentary slot play, meals for two at the all-inclusive Palette Dining Studio, as well as gratis valet parking, Wi-Fi and access to the Four-Star spa and fitness center.
