The new year is fast approaching, and if you’re looking for a way to celebrate 2017’s arrival, there’s still some time to get away. From the slopes of Lake Tahoe and the sunny beaches of Mexico to the front row with a Grammy-winning bad boy, we’ve got eight epic ways to ring out 2016 in the utmost style.

      The Resort at Pelican Hill
For a swanky California New Year Eve’s experience, head to Newport Beach’s The Resort at Pelican Hill, where the holiday celebrations start with four-course meals at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star treasure’s Andrea (wagyu beef tartare, crab and saffron risotto) and ocean-side Pelican Grill and Lounge (foie gras, butter-poached lobster tail).

Follow the latter session with dancing, a live band and a complimentary glass of prosecco.

Kids can get in on the fun with a New Year’s Eve Pajama Party with games, crafts, dinner and a movie.

And the good times don’t end there. Enjoy a New Year’s Day breakfast buffet, complete with rib eye carving station, poolside at the Coliseum Pool & Grill.

      The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe
Head for the Tahoe hills for a thrilling close to the year. During your daylight hours in the resort town, ski the Sierra Nevada slopes or glide straight to the après-ski.

Come nightfall, celebrate in style at the Four-Star hotel with a live band, dancing and a Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar.

What more could you ask for? If you said “dessert bar,” you’re in luck because The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe will have one of those at the soiree, too.

Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita Mexico
If you want sun and sand for New Year’s, enjoy five nights in paradise with Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita Mexico’s Mexchic New Year’s Eve package. It also features an exquisite culinary journey through the country’s history, from pre-Hispanic to modern-day Mexican cuisine.

After the meal, count down with bubbly or, if you’re really trying to get a taste of the local vibe, one of the resort’s 120 tequilas.

      Montage Palmetto Bluff
This South Carolina wonder, with its lush green spaces and colorful roster of activities, is a great place for family breaks any time of year. That isn’t changing one bit on December 31.

For the holiday, the Lowcountry wonder is providing something for the little ones (Children’s Night with magicians and music), their older siblings (holiday game room) and you (the jazz-accompanied Bubbles and Bliss affair).

      Salamander Resort & Spa
Pack up for a last-minute getaway to this Middleburg, Virginia, favorite for a holiday break that the whole family can celebrate.

Depending on what the median age of your group happens to be, you can catch a holiday movie screening of the box-office smash Zootopia (December 30), partake in a Champagne Cocktails and Caviar Tasting at the resort’s own cooking studio (December 31), experience a four-course prix fixe New Year’s Eve Dinner at Harriman’s or reserve a spot at a New Year’s Eve Family Party filled with music, dancing, games and a buffet.

      Fontainebleau Miami Beach
Justin Bieber. New Year’s Eve. Miami. If you’re looking for a party of epic proportions, we’re pretty sure you’ll find it at Forbes Travel Guide Recommended Fontainebleau, where the pop sensation will perform poolside on December 31.

Follow Biebs’ sure-to-be-spirited renditions of “Where Are U Now” and “Sorry” with an all-night set with Skrillex at the onsite LIV Nightclub and Marshmello at Story Nightclub down the street.

Complete the big night by snagging an ultra exclusive stage-side table or cabana that includes a premium open bar until midnight.

      The Broadmoor
Get into a New Year’s state of mind at this Colorado Springs Five-Star gem. The Broadmoor boasts a year-round activities roster that includes everything from canyon hiking to photography classes anyway, so it’s not surprising that its New Year’s Eve offerings would be robust.

On the evening of December 31, the property will present movies (Angry Birds, Captain America: Civil War), have an elegant dinner at the Five-Star Penrose Room (chilled Maine lobster salad, pan-roasted Pacific halibut) and ring in 2017 with a black-tie gala complete with a set course menu, dancing and a dessert bar.

      Skylofts at MGM Grand
The ultimate New Year’s party happens in Vegas, but the choices are seemingly endless. Our pick for the festivities is Hakkasan Las Vegas in Skylofts.

The Forbes Travel Guide Recommended restaurant/nightclub starts the party on December 29 with Grammy Award-winning artist Steve Aoki. Tiësto takes over on December 30.

Then the big attraction: Superstar Drake headlines New Year’s Eve, which will include a champagne toast at midnight and plenty of confetti.

The celebration rages on January 1, when DJ-producer Mark Eteson welcomes the new year with a special set.
