The ever-popular Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando is about to get even more enchanted. Its centerpiece, Magic Kingdom, will celebrate the grand opening of the Enchanted Forest on December 6. The forest is a part of a massive New Fantasyland expansion that will double the area’s size and mark Magic Kingdom’s largest expansion.
Inside the Enchanted Forest, two classic Disney films — The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast — come to life through imaginative landscapes, castles and more. Families will be able to listen to stories from Beauty’s Belle and Lumière, dine on French-inspired fare at the 550-seat Be Our Guest Restaurant inside the Beast’s Castle, sing along at the “Under the Sea: Journey of The Little Mermaid” musical attraction and grab an autograph from Ariel inside her grotto.
Fantasyland’s other new addition, Storybook Circus, is already open. Go under the big top to take a spin on a Dumbo ride, let kids loose in a carnival-themed water play area and climb aboard a train that will tour you throughout the theme park.
But the fun won’t stop there. Further additions to Fantasyland are scheduled, notably a whimsical Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster set to open in 2014.
