An Instagram Guide to The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore

When peeking inside The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore, you will see endless possibilities for photos. Inside the Andre Fu-designed luxury hotel that puts a modern spin on Singapore’s colonial past, you will encounter floor-to-ceiling windows in the guest rooms overlooking Marina Bay, the glittering rooftop bar and pool and the series of dramatic high-ceiling arches in the lobby.

For a tour of the most Instagrammable backdrops in the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel, we turned to Indonesia-based photographer and luxury travel influencer Christina Tan, who goes by the Instagram handle @SassyChris1. The first stop is the above lobby. “The minute we entered the lobby, the beautiful chandelier was eye-catching,” Tan said. “People enjoy sitting in the lobby — it’s a signature of the hotel. The area is very photogenic because of the reflection of the arches on the ceiling. There are so many pictures taken here, including a lot of wedding photos.”

Here are Tan’s other recommendations in the 100-room property:

“This is one of the hotels to have a frontal view of Marina Bay. You can go out and relax and watch the light show every night at Marina Bay Sands from your balcony there. The room is very comfortable, even the non-suite is huge, and the washroom has see-through glass. It has lots of mirrors, wood and leather. It’s very glam.”

To get this shot, visit the guests-only Jacuzzi. “On the left, you see the city, on the right side is Marina Bay. It’s just so beautiful. It’s nice to take a dip and see the city lights.”

“The main pool looks beautiful day and night, and it’s one of the best in the city. Facing an iconic building, the pool is on the sixth floor with submerged lounge chairs. It has see-through glass on one side so you can see people swimming.”

“The service was amazing,” Tan said. The Singapore hotel arranged to have someone pick her up at the gate when she landed, escort her through customs, retrieve her luggage and pack it in the car it provided. When Tan arrived at The Fullerton Bay, she immediately was greeted by the concierge, who brought her to the above front desk. “This is another impressive moment — the ceiling is so high, with a beautiful chandelier on top, that the photo couldn’t capture it all.”

“Afternoon tea takes place in The Landing Point, [which resides in the former location of historic Clifford Pier] where all ships landed in Singapore.” The must-try tea gets a modern update with a custom-designed tiered stand full of picture-perfect pastries.

“Lantern is one of the best hotel bars in Singapore for the view and the ambiance. You can watch the world go by. There’s a DJ and a bistro menu.”

“In the morning, have breakfast at La Brasserie. It offers a high-quality spread of Asian and Western dishes. The restaurant has high ceilings and an open area where you can look at the view. At night it serves French fine dining.”

“Get the best view of the bay at The Landing Point. It has 43-foot-long bar as well.”
