If you haven’t heard of blow-dry bars, they’re salons that specialize in quality, quickie blowouts. Not cuts or color — just a wash and finishing. Why do your own hair when a professional can do it better and more glamorously for a mere $35 or so?
Hotels are getting in on the trend with the arrival of permanent and pop-up blow-dry bars in their luxury properties — all the more convenient for busy, on-the-go travelers.
In New York, there’s an outpost of the popular chain Dry Bar at Le Parker Meridian ($40 blowout at the salon, $55 for in-room service). When visiting Los Angeles, tame your tresses at Blo Blow Dry Bar, which is decked out in its signature hot pink at the W Hollywood Hotel, and try a “red carpet” blowout for $35 that will give your locks lots of body. Or get one in the location inside Shangri-La Toronto. And The Spa at Four Seasons Atlanta just announced a partnership with a local Atlanta chain, Blo Beauty Bar. Now you won’t have to drag along that extra suitcase just for your styling products.
