Political junkies will want to catch the returns or recup post-election at one of these luxury hotels. Forbes Travel Guide has been on the trail of some of the best election-themed hotel packages and here’s what we can confidently endorse.
Through November at The Brazilian Court Hotel & Beach Club in Palm Beach, Fla., you can indulge in chocolate covered strawberries upon arrival, cocktails at the Lobby Bar, a facial at the luxe Frédéric Fekkai Salon and Spa and either a copy of Mitt Romney’s “No Apology” or Barack Obama’s “The Audacity of Hope.” It’s all part of the Presidential Pampering in Palm Beach package. While you’re there, don’t miss dinner at the hotel’s Café Boulud, an offshoot of the famed New York City original.
Now through January 22, the Commander in Sleep deal at Loews Annapolis Hotel includes a $25 food and beverage credit, a hassle-free late checkout and daily delivery of the Capital Gazette. You’ll also have your choice of a walking tour of the United States Naval Academy or the charming, history-steeped resort town of Annapolis.
There’s no bi-partisan party at The Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. Republicans and Democrats get two different experiences when they book the Presidential Preferences package. Republicans will stay in the right wing of the hotel where the rooms will have elephant coffee mugs, Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and Romney’s favorite snacks — pretzels and peanut M&Ms. Democrats will be housed in the left wing, in rooms with donkey coffee mugs, Starbucks coffee and Obama’s preferred snack — trail mix. You can book either package through November 6; after that only the winning party’s roundup will be available through January 31.
Ten presidents have slept at The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C. and you can get the VIP treatment at this historic inn, too, when you book the Presidential Election Package, which includes a room on the private club floor. The special, which runs through November 20, includes personal concierge services, access to the spa, daily breakfast and a copy of “Built for the Ages: A History of Grove Park Inn.” The 100-year history of the hotel is a real American story.
