The House of Rémy Martin is celebrating 300 years of exceptional cognac-making. Founded in 1724, the iconic brand has hosted a series of special events under the theme “We Dream Forward,” connecting its rich heritage with a vision for the future.
Throughout 2024, Rémy Martin held global celebrations, showcasing its craftsmanship and commitment to innovation. A special New England event in November, held in collaboration with Forbes Travel Guide and Raffles Boston further highlighted the brand’s legacy.
The evening took place at The Blind Duck, the Boston hotel’s hidden gem speakeasy. It brought together an elite mix of industry professionals, including bar managers, business owners and influencers — those shaping the future of the city’s thriving cocktail culture.
While the soiree celebrated the artistry of mixology and the timeless elegance of Rémy Martin, it also honored Martignetti Companies, Rémy Martin’s exclusive distributor in Massachusetts. The brand’s continued success in the region owes much to the steadfast partnership and efforts of Martignetti.
Under the expert guidance of Raffles Boston beverage director Micah Clark, The Blind Duck dazzled its guests with an unforgettable Rémy Martin XO Opulence Table experience led by Ashley Austin, Rémy Martin’s passionate brand ambassador. Guests explored the multifaceted elegance of XO cognac, savoring its luxurious flavor profile in an immersive tasting session.
Adding an element of spirited competition, the night also featured a cocktail showdown, bringing together Boston’s best bartenders to showcase their skills. The Blind Duck’s upstairs and downstairs bars buzzed with energy as the brilliant bartenders presented their bespoke concoctions to a discerning crowd.
Signature drinks included Equal Measure bartender Eliza Hoar’s Apple of Your Eye (a refreshing blend of Rémy Martin 1738, Aperol, acidified Melrose apple juice, Telmont organic champagne and a chamomile-rooibos foam), Spy Bar mixologist Marco Anaya’s Allota’ Butta’ (an inventive mix of Mushroom Brown Butter Rémy Martin VSOP, Rittenhouse Rye, salted caramel syrup and umami bitters) and The Blind Duck bartender Ian Maracco’s Handshake (a bold and balanced creation featuring Rémy Martin 1738, Fernet, Carpano Antica vermouth and demerara syrup).
Guests were part of the competition. They were given a golden Rémy Martin coin to cast their vote for their favorite cocktail.
After the votes were tallied, Hoar and Maracco emerged as the winners and will enjoy exclusive, high-end culinary experiences at select Rémy Martin partner establishments in Boston, further proving the label’s belief in the synergy between world-class gastronomy and cognac.
Some other special pours were also given their spotlight at the function. Homage was paid to the Sidecar, the iconic Rémy Martin libation first crafted in 1921 at Five-Star Ritz Paris, in the form of a reimagined welcome drink.
Telmont’s newly released Réserve de la Terre is a revolutionary champagne making its debut in Massachusetts. Known for its eco-conscious production methods and quality, this cuvée made with organic grapes added a layer of sophistication by perfectly complementing the Rémy Martin experience.
A Legacy Worthy of 300 Years
In celebration of a three-century legacy, Rémy Martin unveiled the exclusive 300th Anniversary Coupe, a masterpiece crafted by cellar master Baptiste Loiseau. Available in limited quantities, this extraordinary cognac nods to the house’s storied heritage while envisioning its future.
The blend draws from Rémy Martin’s Réserve Perpétuelle, a rare collection of eaux-de-vie sourced exclusively from the prestigious Grande Champagne terroir. Known for its exceptional aromatic quality and aging potential, this region has been the cornerstone of Rémy Martin’s excellence. Building on the 290th Anniversary Coupe, which was already linked to the 275th Anniversary Coupe, Loiseau enriched the blend with harmonious eaux-de-vie, creating a timeless connection between generations.
“The Réserve Perpétuelle is both a process and a legacy,” Loiseau said. “Each blend reserves part of itself for future cellar masters. The 300th Anniversary Coupecontinues this tradition, creating a treasure for the next generation.”
Housed in a glass carafe inspired by the iconic 250th Anniversary Coupe, the design features embossed lines symbolizing the forward motion of Rémy Martin’s centaur emblem. Presented in a bespoke wooden case, the coupe includes a note from the cellar master and a QR code granting access to exclusive digital content.
But this release isn’t just a milestone; it’s an invitation to dream forward. From rare cognac tastings to artfully crafted cocktails to the unveiling of a legacy masterpiece, Rémy Martin’s 300th anniversary celebrates beautifully intertwined history, craftsmanship and innovation.
Looking Forward
As the evening concluded, guests left not only with memories of exquisite flavors and sparkling conversations but also a profound appreciation for Rémy Martin’s dedication to excellence. The event was a blend of past, present and future, reflecting the house’s vision to continuously push the boundaries of craftsmanship and creativity.
