      When Mobil Travel Guide began in 1958, its mission was to be a source for families in need of quality lodging and dining (and gas, of course) across America’s highways and byways. And while lots has changed over the past 60 years — wait, how much was admission to Disneyland in 1960 again? — our goal of keeping travelers informed about the finest properties in the world has not. As we prepare to celebrate this year’s Forbes Travel Guide Star-Rated winners at Verified, The Forbes Travel Guide Luxury Summit on February 27 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, we take a look back at some of the company’s milestone moments and fun facts from the past six decades.
