We’ve sipped and swirled our way through numerous hotel bars, but we’re partial to those places that put their own spin on classic libations. Here are a few cool cocktails you should try now:
The Chili Ristras at The Phoenician. The signature cocktail of the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star resort in Scottsdale, Ariz., nods to its Southwest provenance and is made with El Tesoro tequila, chipotle- and cilantro-infused agave nectar, pineapple and lime juice. The garnish? A skewered chili pepper, of course.
The Fraise Petillant at The Grand Del Mar. The Five-Star San Diego resort’s fine-dining restaurant Addison has six signature cocktails, but we like this one for its light, slightly tropical and sophisticated mix of Tahitian vanilla rum, fresh strawberry and champagne.
The Moses Horton at The Fearrington House Inn. You can count on new signature cocktails when the seasons change at the Five-Star North Carolina inn’s namesake restaurant. This autumn-inspired drink, named after the first African-American to publish a book of poetry while enslaved in the South, combines Grey Goose pear vodka, Foggy Ridge Cider, crab apple, lemon, soda water and a hint of mint.
