When stepping into a guest room designed by Ivanka Trump, you expect opulence, glamour and a refined style, and that’s exactly what her redesigned rooms at Doral Golf Resort & Spa Miami plan to offer.
The revamped rooms, designed by Trump in cooperation with WATG’s Wimberly Interiors, will feature a range of neutral colors that make for a clean and polished feel; champagne, ivory and caramel will be accentuated with mahogany wood and gold-leaf Spanish Revival details. The design also incorporates golf-inspired tartan plaid and herringbone patterns, fitting with the resort’s heritage rooted in the sport. Artwork will include classic photographs of golfers who have hit Doral’s Blue Monster links — which are getting a renovation of their own under the direction of renowned course architect Gil Hanse.
Work on the guest rooms will start after the PGA Tour’s World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship at Doral Resort this spring and is slated to be complete in 2014. The guest rooms and golf course aren’t the only parts of the resort being renovated, though; the $200 million project spans the entire property, including the main building, conference areas, spa, pools and more. The Trump Hotel Collection acquired the resort in June 2012 and, after completing this year’s overhaul, will rename the property Trump Doral.
