      The Peninsula Hong Kong

Those who prefer to stay at the nexus of what’s new in town need look no further than these three Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotels. With recent renovations and reworked restaurants, these classic hotels feel new again. Book one for your next business trip or weekend escape and experience why these luxury hotels are once again the talk of their towns.

      1. The Peninsula Hong Kong. This historic Five-Star hotel in Kowloon’s Tsim Sha Tsui neighborhood is as over-the-top luxurious as it was on the day it opened in 1928, and even more so now thanks to a recently unveiled renovation that included a freshening up of the room décor (think luxuriously creamy neutrals) and the installation of cutting-edge in-room technology like tablet-controlled lighting and music. The service remains as polished as ever, and the location close to the waterfront and Star Ferry to Hong Kong Island still can’t be beat. Be sure to make time for a cocktail in the hotel’s whimsical basement-level speakeasy, Salon de Ning.

      2. Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. Located on the Windy City’s famed Magnificent Mile near the city’s best designer shops, the discreet Five-Star hotel is used to catering to VIPs, celebrities and visiting athletes. And now there are even more venues for entertaining the stars who flock here, including the just-opened Allium, a contemporary American restaurant under the direction of executive chef Kevin Hickey. Look for a menu of seasonal comfort foods with an eye to Midwestern recipes that range from a fresh bratwurst with spaetzle and pickled cabbage to an authentic housemade Chicago hot dog.

      3. The Beverly Hills Hotel. The pink palace just celebrated its 100th anniversary, and as part of that occasion has undergone a renovation that included the grand lobby entrance (we love the handpainted mural behind the concierge desk and front desk that’s a map of Beverly Hills) and will extend to a refresh of the famed Polo Lounge by star designer Adam Tihany.
