Our “Friday Travel Photo” comes from member Cristina Cardenal of Miami. Cardenal visited India in July for two weeks with her family, and said it was an amazing time of many firsts. “When the tour guide said we would be entering Jaipur’s Amber Fort in the traditional way, I thought he was referring to an entrance used by the maharajah,” she says. “I was not expecting an elephant ride. The closest I had ever been to an elephant was at the zoo and even though the mahout — the elephant driver — assured me that I’d be fine, I was panicked the whole way up to the fort. Once safely on firm land, we explored the Amber Fort and looked at the regal city of Jaipur from high in the hills.”
