Our “Friday Travel Photo” comes from Zoe Efstathiou of Oxford, England. In January, she took a trip with her friend to Petra, Jordan. She explains her shot: “A friendly Bedouin man who lived in a cave overlooking the desert had just taken me and my friend on an unofficial tour of the hidden parts of the ancient city. It was a Monday morning and we had been drinking mint tea in a cave. I remember thinking how far removed I was from my usual Monday morning routine of having a coffee and checking my inbox at the office. I like this photo because it captures the rose colors of Petra, but it also shows the vibrant blankets that the present-day Bedouins use to cover their camels.”
