As the night of tricks and treats draws near, visit the dark side with some Halloween-themed events. From Vegas clubs to beachside locales, here are three adult hotel Halloween celebrations to check out — if you’re not too scared, that is.
Various Events
Wynn Las Vegas, Encore at Wynn Las Vegas
October 26-31
If you’d rather trade in spider webs and ghoulish apparitions for bright lights and thumping beats, the trio of nightclubs at these Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotels should be on your radar during Halloween week. Steve Angello, Afrojack and always-in-costume deadmau5 are the major draws at XS, while R3hab, Steve Aoki, Dada Life and Deniz Koyu will offer up the biggest dance parties at Surrender. Not to be outdone, Tryst features the likes of the aptly named DJ Spider and, once again, Afrojack. If you plan on dressing up this Halloween, go all out — Surrender will host a costume contest with $10,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs.
Hallow-Wine & Spirits Party
Hotel Del Coronado
October 27
Halloween is a sugar goldmine for kids, but why should they have all the fun? This San Diego beachside hotel — famous for Kate Morgan, its resident ghost who’s haunted the grounds since 1892 — looks to please the adults this year with the Hallow-Wine & Spirits Party. As the evening kicks off, you’ll trick-or-treat on the Garden Patio, sampling wine, cheeses and chocolates. After getting your fill there, the Crown Room sets the stage for a spooky good time with hors d’oeuvres, a costume contest and music from the hotel’s DJ. Who knows? Maybe Morgan will even make an appearance.
Spooky Sushi and Spirits at Rebar
Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago
Through October 31
If you’re headed to the Windy City for the holiday, this Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel is laying out quite holiday spread. But instead of candy, you’ll find sushi and cocktails. Sip on a Dra-Kahlua (Kahlúa, Martell V.S.O.P., triple sec, lemon juice and simple syrup) and a Pump J.R. (pumpkin liqueur, Godiva White Chocolate liqueur and vanilla with cinnamon) while enjoying specialty maki rolls such as the Trick-or-Treat (sweet potato tempura, asparagus tempura, marinated squash, warm teriyaki dressing and a selection of tobiko) the Tarantula (cucumber and avocado soft-shell crab, tuna and salmon hamachi, sweet chili dressing) and more hauntingly named delights to get you prepared for the big night.
