Halloween is creeping up quickly, and luxury hotels are getting into the spooky spirit. Whether you’re in the mood for a family-friendly night of fun, a romantic evening with a special someone or a party full of dubstep and strobe lights, our editors have you covered. Here are four hotels getting ghoulish this season:
The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel
Bring the whole family along for this Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star’s Creatures of the Night events offered throughout Halloween week. Put on by Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment, these kid-friendly activities are designed to tap into the five senses. Identify various animals in the Shadow Game, challenge your sniffing abilities at Ghoulish Smell and try your best to recognize different sweets at the Candy Bar Taste Test. Creatures of the Night runs from 6 to 9 p.m. each evening and costs $65.
Situated on 3,300 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this Forbes Travel Guide recommended hotel isn’t planning your typical scary Halloween event. Instead, the property is hosting the Under the Autumn Moon Masquerade Party on October 27. Come dressed in costume to dance in the moonlight among the Manor House Ruins. Live music from Keenan Blount (a sweet-sounding staple of the event since its inception) will be in full swing well past midnight. There’s no need to worry about late-night chills — fireplaces inside the ruins and fire pits placed around the lawn will be available to ward off the cool air, not to mention that hot toddies will be on offer. Dinner reservations at one of the hotel’s restaurants, Rice House or Woodlands Grill, prior to the ghostly get-together are highly encouraged.
If you want a Halloween bash, dance to music from some of the world’s best DJs. Cue Wynn Las Vegas. The Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel boasts three nightclubs — XS, Surrender and Tryst — all of which will host top party-starters throughout Halloween week. Expect to see Steve Angello, Afrojack and deadmau5 at XS. R3hab, Steve Aoki, Deniz Koyu and Dada Life will spin at Surrender. Afrojack (again!) and DJ Spider will mix tunes at Tryst. Plus, Surrender is also holding a costume contest on October 25 with $10,000 available in cash and prizes. Just remember — tickets should be purchased ahead of time.
This Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel goes all out with Halloween festivities during its three-weekend-long celebration from October 19 to November 3. Dare to venture into the Creatures of the Night exhibit at ZooAmerica to spot nocturnal animals with your flashlight or take the kids to the S’mores Campfire Party at Hershey’s Chocolate World. Brace yourself for more than 50 rides and attractions at Hersheypark In The Dark, where you can also participate in the eight-stop Hershey’s Chocolate Tasting Adventure to gather more than your fill of sugar. But the fun isn’t all for the kids — adults can book special fall treatments like the pumpkin spice rub or pumpkin soufflé wrap at The Spa At The Hotel Hershey.
