How do you celebrate the person that brought you (or your children) into the world? A card? Maybe a bouquet of flowers? Not that there’s anything wrong with either of those options, but if you feel it’s time to truly step up your gift-giving game this Mother’s Day (May 10), a luxurious vacation at an exclusive resort might be in order. No matter if she loves adventure or needs to be pampered, these seven properties are ready and waiting to make the mother in your life feel special on a day that’s all about her.

      Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta
The Mandarin Oriental is a reprieve of peace in the midst of Atlanta’s bustling Buckhead neighborhood. With glittering city views and lush bed linens, a night or two at this Four-Star property is all it takes to recharge and refresh. This Mother’s Day, the hotel is offering a high-end brunch complete with an elaborate seafood display of Georgia shrimp, miso-poached sea scallops, mussels and more. In addition to complimentary flowers delivered during the meal, James Hurley Designs, a local florist with an avant-garde flair, will display a pop-up shop of spring blooms in the atrium that guests can enjoy on their way to the spa, pool or back to the comfort of their own private suite.

The Resort at Pelican Hill, Newport Beach, California
Located between two oceanside golf courses, this Five-Star jewel might be misconstrued as a man’s paradise — but not on Mother’s Day. The big Sunday is packed with opportunities to shower your special lady with love and delicious food. For a meal she won’t forget (and doesn’t have to prepare), reserve a spot for a traditional afternoon tea in the Great Room, a chef-crafted brunch in Mar Vista’s grand ballroom, or go with the prix fixe meal happening at Four-Star Andrea or the Pelican Grill. At the latter, chef Luke Turpin will plate delicacies such as Aspen Ridge beef tenderloin served with fiddlehead ferns, wild mushrooms, ramp greens and a sherry-oregano reduction. When the meal’s over, let mom have her choice of activities. From lounging at the pool to receiving a facial at Pelican Hill’s Five-Star spa, the day will surely beat any holiday at home. And, of course, golfers won’t miss out on anything either — the resort will offer a Ladies’ Spring Golf Academy with PGA-certified golf instructor Tim Mitchell on the Monday following the holiday.

      Hyatt Regency Orlando

Whether you’re traveling to Florida for the palm trees, pleasant temperatures or impromptu photo opportunities with Goofy, you’ll appreciate this Hyatt Regency’s central location and luxe amenities. The hotel’s Fiorenzo Italian Steakhouse will host a Mother’s Day brunch, serving seasonal salads, spicy chilled shrimp, herb-marinated prime rib, sushi and much more. Just minutes from attractions like Walt Disney World and SeaWorld, the Hyatt Regency offers plenty of chances for families to make memories together.

If you’re looking for seclusion, look no further than this Five-Star resort located just 26 miles north of San Diego. On May 10, in addition to all of its normal upscale touches, Rancho Valencia is providing guests with a fine prix fixe brunch, perfect for celebrating as a family. In addition to the selections like lemon soufflé pancakes coming from the kitchen, the day will also be filled with cabana lounges, a lemonade stand, picnicking, parasols, live music, a jump house and a stone fruit sangria bar, promising an afternoon that everyone will remember for years.

      InterContinental Hong Kong
This Mother’s Day, this Five-Star beauty pays tribute to all of the special women with lunch and dinner celebrations at its five diverse restaurants, which offer world-class cuisine and spectacular harbor views. (Two of the eateries, Yan Toh Heen and Spoon by Alain Ducasse, are Star-Rated establishments.) Before or after dinner, guests can reserve a special I-Spa package (including a 30-minute massage and 75-minute hydrating face treatment) and partake in a complimentary professional photography session. Book a suite stay during the month of May, and literally spread the love even more across two rooms.

What mom doesn’t love a glass of wine? At Meadowood, a Four-Star resort in Northern California, vino flows while mothers are simultaneously celebrated. On Saturday, while she’s off playing tennis or getting her aches addressed at the Four-Star spa, write her a handwritten note. The next morning, you’ll find it placed carefully on a tray, when room service delivers breakfast in bed alongside pink roses, sparkling wine, fresh juice, coffee and pastries. Designed with couples in mind, the weekend also features a complimentary Friday afternoon wine reception and brunch at The Grill.

      The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland
For those seeking a place to properly celebrate mom along the Great Lakes, look no further than this Four-Star property situated in the heart of downtown Cleveland. After tea, or a lavish brunch (carving stations, chef-inspired sweets) in the Ritz-Carlton Ballroom (but don’t forget your fresh flowers at the Mother’s Day Bouquet Booth), bask in an afternoon beside Lake Erie at nearby Edgewater Park. With charcoal grills, a playground and a fishing pier, it’s easy to how the popular meeting space can easily turn into an afternoon of fun for the whole family.
