Hotels and resorts across the globe are celebrating 12-12-2012 today, and our Forbes Travel Guide editors found five spots marking the numerically significant day with particularly lavish blowout packages and sweet steals. Take a look at these happenings on this once-in-a-century date:
This Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel is offering three deals for the date — two “Ultimate Experience” room promotions and one wedding promo:
Room deal No. 1: For about $9,800, stay in the romantic Astor Suite (room 1212) with panoramas of the Bund and beyond. Guests will get a champagne breakfast, dinner at Yi Long Court or Sir Elly’s, a half-day spa experience and transfer to the hotel in a Rolls-Royce Phantom.
Room deal No. 2: For about $900, stay in a Grand Deluxe River Room (room 12) and get breakfast, dinner, a surprise welcome gift and a complimentary night in a Deluxe Garden Room.
The wedding package: Priced at approximately $9,800 per table of 10 people and good through December 31, this package includes two nights in the Astor Suite, a bottle of champagne, breakfast, spa treatments, a Rolls-Royce departure transfer and a complimentary night in a Grand Deluxe River Suite on the couple’s one-year anniversary. The wedding itself? Couples celebrate with a banquet in the Palace Suite, a cake, a pianist and a jazz band.
While Las Vegas has loads of wedding ceremony specials today, we’re partial to the high-class one offered by the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Bellagio on the Strip. For $5,000, couples get (among other things): an hour of chapel time, fresh white rose petals scattered about, a live Web broadcast of the ceremony, limo service to and from the marriage license bureau, a bottle of Bollinger champagne and buffet for two at Bellagio.
This all-inclusive Caribbean resort in Antigua gave couples the chance to rent out the hotel’s entire private island for a 12/12/12 wedding. Starting at $230,000, the “Once in a Lifetime Package” includes three nights at the luxury hotel for the couple plus 80 of their guests, a pre-party, ceremony, cocktail hour and wedding reception.
Here’s a deal you can still snap up: Until 11:59 p.m. EST tonight, you can book any guest room at the Affinia Hotel in New York or Washington D.C. for $112.12 for Sunday night stays from January 2 through March 31. Staying longer? You’ll get a 12 percent discount on those nights, too.
From today through December 24, you can book the “12/12/12 Package,” which includes a 12 percent discount on all incidental charges and entry to win a free one-night weekend stay in one of the Four-Star hotel’s luxe one-bedroom suites.
