Ritz Paris recently unveiled a newly renovated spa that finds inspiration from florals and femininity. Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Ritz Club & Spa decorates the spaces with flowers, starting with the large spherical light made of delicate white porcelain blooms gracing the entryway.
The treatment rooms take their names from blossoms favored by women who played a role in the hotel’s history, like Edelweiss (beloved by hospitality pioneer Marie-Louise Ritz; the wife of hotel founder César Ritz ran the property after his death), Iris, Orchid and Rose (all inspired by regular guests French author Colette, writer Zelda Fitzgerald — wife to F. Scott — and actress Ingrid Bergman, respectively). And each space features its namesake flower hand-painted on the walls with a ceiling light composed of hundreds of porcelain flowers. The spa also uses 100 percent natural and French-made floral oils in the massages.
We spoke to newly appointed spa director Nathalie Delclos to learn more about the revamped spa, what’s trending in wellness and her own self-care tips.
What can guests expect at the new spa?
Experiences at The Ritz Club & Spa are completely unique through personalized and customizable treatments that are based on an analysis of each guest. The Ritz Club uses a Skin Instant Lab machine from Biologique Recherche to align with our personalized approach. Our vision is to deliver the treatment based on the client, rather than standard protocols.
Prior to coaching, we provide a body analysis to our members and guests with the Tanita machine, which measures the weight of muscle, bones and fat and helps detail a specific program.
What is your favorite part of the new spa?
I adore the large space by the pool, as it is complete with a new pool bar. The bar reinforces our well-being approach by serving detox and healthy drinks, along with food that fuels the body, such as salads.
The bar provides a lounge area as well, with amenities and a large section of seating for our guests who don’t want to get changed for lunch or a quick drink. We have the future vision of offering specific programs to our guests alongside customized lunches in our day spa to mirror their wellness journey.
What is the must-try treatment?
Our facials with Biologique Recherche. Their products always yield the best results.
What do you predict will be the big spa and wellness trends for this year?
We are seeing more people interested in detox in the luxury sphere. With this, The Ritz Club & Spa is designed to provide specific programs for detoxing, anti-aging and healing after injury, as well as education ranging from food to exercise to how to prevent illness.
Following our time with guests, we have created virtual services to continue their program with the coach they saw on property to further pursue their health and wellness goals.
What’s one great self-care tip you can offer that people can do at home?
The most important thing for your skin is to clean it deeply with good products every evening as the skin regenerates itself during the night. Always be sure to protect your skin with quality and healthy-ingredient products, such as the P50 lotion from Biologique Recherche.
For tight muscles and soreness experienced throughout the day, we recommend using the Theragun from Therabody to relieve tension, which we also offer at the spa.
