      Rosewood Abu Dhabi Opens Today

The much-anticipated Rosewood Abu Dhabi begins welcoming guests today into the group’s first property in the United Arab Emirates (a Dubai hotel is slated to open next year). Sitting on Al Maryah Island on Sowwah Square, this luxury hotel’s waterfront location is just one of the many perks. The 189 spacious rooms and suites are sleek and contemporary yet retain the residential feel for which the Dallas-based hotel group is known. Floor-to-ceiling windows in all of the guest rooms allow you to get a glimpse of the beauty of the Arabian Gulf and the Abu Dhabi skyline, and top-notch amenities — iPad room navigation systems to control lighting, temperature and curtains; oversized Villeroy & Boch bath tubs; and Pratesi Egyptian cotton linens — are nice touches.

You’ll find similar detail throughout the hotel, including hand-blown chandeliers from the Czech Republic and Italian marble. Rosewood Abu Dhabi is looking to appeal to all kinds of travelers with more than 17,800 square feet of meeting space; nine restaurants and lounges that range from a modern Lebanese eatery to an exclusive wine cellar with a walk-in cigar room; and a heated outdoor pool. An unusual amenity is that this Abu Dhabi hotel is directly connected to the new Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi via climate-controlled walkways. Rosewood also will have direct access to The Galleria, a shopping-and-dining destination that will open in August.

About Forbes Travel Guide Editor Hayley Bosch

Majoring in French and Italian in college yielded some of the best food (in my own humble opinion) and vacations (everyone wants to travel with someone who’s fluent) that I could imagine. And as a Content Editor at Forbes Travel Guide, I’m able to focus on my passion for traveling and eating — with a refined palate, of course. I love to write about my adventures; it’s a way of telling my story. I seek out everything from marathons in cities I’ve never explored to restaurants off the beaten path. When I’m not eating my way through my world travels, I’m chatting with our Tastemakers to help tell their stories of travel, food and business.
