Thinking of a trip to Park City, Utah, this winter? Have your dream ski or snowboard lessons at Canyons Resort Ski & Snowboard School’s Ultimate Mountain Experience. These three-day fantasy camps combine the expertise of past Olympians, the challenging (yet gorgeous) terrain of North America’s fourth-largest ski resort and individualized training to build your skills on the slopes.
Alongside Phil McNichol, former 11-year coach of the U.S. Ski Team, the roster of alpine skiers participating in the camps includes two-time Olympian Holly Flanders, two-time national champion Byron Friedman, two-time Olympian Doug Lewis, World Cup veteran Justin “JJ” Johnson and more recent Olympians Kaylin Richardson (who competed in 2006 and 2010) and Erik Schlopy (1994, 2002 and 2006).
If you’re looking to sharpen your snowboarding skills, 2011 U.S. national boardercross champion Jonathan Cheever and two-time Olympian in boardercross Graham Watanabe will be on hand to help.
The Ultimate Mountain Experience is for guests with intermediate or above abilities looking to finesse their skills while the athletes share their secrets and provide some of the best race coaching available. But the fun doesn’t end on the mountain, as guests can expect après-ski activities after their sessions.
The two fantasy camps (January 11-13 and March 8-10) are $1,275 per person for the entire event. Can’t make one of those dates? The athletes are available for one- to three-day private sessions for up to four people ($1,325 for one, an additional $400 per extra person).
As for a cozy place to rest your head after a long day on the slopes, we suggest the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Waldorf Astoria Park City, which provides convenient access to Canyons as well as the Four-Star Golden Door Spa. The 16,000-square-foot spa will certainly help you relax after your gold-medal ski days.
