Thailand’s Newest Tropical Paradise Is Ready To Wow
By Forbes Travel Guide Editor Sarah Gleim

      November 28, 2012

Regent Hotels is scheduled to open its first hotel in several years on Dec. 1 in Phuket, Thailand. The Regent Phuket is located on the tropical private bay of Cape Panwa overlooking the Andaman Sea in Southern Thailand, and will include 105 luxury guest suites, pavilions and villas.

The hotel’s 22 guest pavilions are spacious (645 square feet) and impeccably appointed with king-size beds, Liddell linens, balconies with ocean views and 24-hour in-room dining. The 48 suites are slightly larger and also offer an adjoining living room and views of either the Andaman Sea or Panwa Bay. But it’s the Regent Phuket’s 35 pool villas that are ultra exclusive. The 1,600-square-foot villas include their own private pools and outdoor lounge areas overlooking the ocean. Guests in these premier quarters also have access to a 24-hour butler, daily laundry service and a well-stocked bar.

Two signature restaurants at the resort — The Grill and The Restaurant — will feature a wide variety of cuisine, from fresh seafood and steaks to Thai and other international fusion dishes. And guests can unwind with their favorite wines and cocktails at one of two bars and lounges, The Library Lounge and The Beach Bar.

Of course, the best place to get in some real relaxation time will be at the 17,700-square-foot Regent Spa — which includes eight private rooms open to the ocean — where you can experience a true Thai massage treatment, take in a Pilates class or work through sun salutation at the Yoga Pavilion.
