Forbes Travel Guide released the 60th edition of its prestigious Star Awards on February 20, unveiling a wide array of exceedingly sumptuous spas around the globe.
California came out ahead, boasting the most Five-Star spas in the United States (nine), thanks to the addition of The Spa at Rancho Valencia in San Diego.

Four other sublime spots achieved top honors: Luna y Mar in Los Cabos, The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou, Spa at Wynn Palace Macau and Ritz Club Paris.
An impressive showing was made in the Four-Star category, with 29 sanctuaries of serenity from across the map obtaining the award for the first time. The Spa at the Woodstock Inn & Resort in Vermont, Zensa Spa at Studio City Macau, Le Spa by Sisley at Le Richemond Genève and Mulia Spa at The Mulia – Nusa Dua, Bali illustrate the diversity in this year’s roster of winners.
