Three Luxe Five-Star Winter Escapes
If the winter blues are getting you down, bounce back with a quick getaway. From the East Coast to the West, we found three Five-Star hotels with perk-up packages that’ll take your mind off of the wind, sleet and snow:
Culture and Couture Package at The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park. Enjoy the best that New York has to offer at the grand hotel overlooking the city’s famous park. First, warm up with high tea at Bergdorf Goodman, where there will be no shortage of freshly baked scones, petite sweets and Dammann Frères teas. Then go on a spree at the iconic store with a personal shopper. Pick up something to wear for that evening, when you’ll see the New York City Ballet (Paul McCartney’s Ocean’s Kingdom in January, Romeo + Juliet in February). Afterward, return to your room and head for the deep soaking tub — the perfect spot to hibernate on a chilly New York night. Rates start at $995 a night.
Silver Ski Vacation Package at Stein Eriksen Lodge. If you have to be surrounded by snow, do it at a Scandinavian-style luxury ski resort. This package offers you full-day ski rentals and multi-day lift tickets. Plus, partake in the other ski perks that the Park City lodge has to offer, such as ski-in/ski-out access, an onsite ski shop and an outdoor hot tub to soothe your sore muscles after a day on the slopes. The deal also includes a deluxe room, where you can kick back in front of the stone fireplace or in the jetted bath (but we suggest requesting a room with its own hot tub). A two-night minimum stay is required; rates start at around $800 a night.
Relax & Revive at Montage Beverly Hills. Get a reprieve from the cold at this Los Angeles hotel. When you check into the Spanish Colonial revival-style space, you’ll receive a room upgrade. The next day, you’ll be served breakfast in bed (or in the hotel’s gardens) before heading to Spa Montage. There, you’ll have a $100 credit to use on anything from an aromatic massage to an anti-aging treatment. After the pampering, take a stroll down to the designer shops in the nearby Golden Triangle, where you’ll see top names like Valentino, Prada and Gucci. The retail therapy will cure winter blahs.
