Aspen is a little-known shopping haven. The small ski town has enough designer boutiques to rival Madison Avenue.
Luxury shoppers will find themselves right at home among the racks at Gucci, Christian Dior, Prada, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren and a whole slew of other international brands on Galena Street.
You also will find a slew of boutiques. Pitkin County Dry Goods opened its doors in 1969, and Aspen’s oldest clothing shop still sells sophisticated threads for men and women, footwear and accessories. Go to Gorsuch, which has stores in Colorado and Utah, to pick up skiwear and chic clothing. And if you want some Western-inspired wear, browse the large collection of cowboy boots, hats and belt buckles at Kemo Sabe.
An unexpected place to snag some luxury pieces sits inside Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star The Little Nell. The hotel’s boutique carries Edie Parker clutches, White and Warren cashmere wraps, Vivo bags and Zalto Austrian glass.
Popular European brand Jitrois operates a boutique full of couture finds in Aspen, as does New York City’s sneaker-and-street-clothing company Kith, which stocks its snowy-mountain-like shop with snowboard wear.
