Finding a good haircut while traveling is never easy. Here are some insider tips on the best hair salons in Paris, based on my own experiences and those of my close friends.
Messieurs Dames
Located in the Marais, it’s a no-frills, no-fuss salon, with talented hair stylists and a cool vibe. I love the line of products it uses by Kevin Murphy, and it always seems to get my cut and blowdry just right.
Ask for an appointment with Sebastien or Yumi. They are both amazing (as all of the stylists likely are).
David Mallett
This is one of the most prestigious hair salons in Paris, with a team that treats you like a princess.
The salon is known to be the queen of coloring, and the location is stunning. Set in a private apartment in the Second Arrondissement that is nearly 4,000 square feet, the classic atmosphere makes for the perfect Parisian hair salon experience.
There’s also a David Mallett salon in the opulent Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Ritz Paris that also does cuts, styling, updos, coloring, balayage (a French coloring technique that leaves tresses looking naturally sun-kissed) and more.
Atelier 7
If you are looking to get your locks colored, this is another option to check out. Atelier 7 treats each head of hair like an artist’s canvas.
The interior is totally Zen, which creates a nice, relaxing ambience for your hair-styling experience. The salon also offers a great head massage and even a mani/pedi if you need it.
Herbert Bauer
This is another salon where the head massage is killer and the location makes the experience all the more enjoyable.
At Herbert Bauer in the Second Arrondissement, the stylists pay attention to your every need to make sure that your cut complements your natural face shape and hair texture.
