Warmer weather is just around the corner, which means exciting events are springing up in cities across the globe. From electric car races and star-studded concerts to wine festivals and legendary parades, March is shaping up to be a memorable month, indeed.

      Sonoma
Foodies will want to flock to this NorCal city for Sonoma County Restaurant Week. Through March 10, a slew of local eateries will serve delicious deals (think two-course lunches for $15 or three-course dinners for less than $40) to help pad an afternoon of wine tasting through the valley’s famed vineyards.

If you’re still in town at the end of the month (March 27 to 31), catch a few flicks during the 22nd annual Sonoma International Film Festival. A highlight of this year’s event is the dinner-and-a-movie-style debut of Tyler Florence’s Uncrushable, a documentary directed by the celebrity chef covering the region’s 2017 wildfires and the resilience of its locals.

Just a mile from downtown’s Sonoma Plaza, The Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance Resort & Spa provides a serene home base for all the excitement. Take a stroll around the 14-acre property to see more than 800 budding rose bushes spring to life.

Skip the spring renewal retreat and go straight for an over-the-top breakaway at Forbes Travel Guide Recommended Mohegan Sun, where Grammy-winning singer Kelly Clarkson will perform on March 14 and 15.

Make the most of your stay by booking the casino hotel’s Kelly Clarkson Thursday Entertainment Package and get tickets to The Voice star’s show, a $25 voucher to Taughannick Falls Bar for pre-performance cocktails and cozy accommodations to crash in after the concert.

      Los Cabos
Seafood lovers should splurge on a waterfront escape to Five-Star Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection this spring for a savory adventure.

Thanks to the Cabo San Lucas retreat’s brand-new Culinary at the Cove program, you can dive for chocolate clams and forage for local delicacies like sea urchin, blue stone crabs and snails before indulging in a fresh feast featuring the fruits of your labor prepared by resort executive chef Guillermo Gomez.

To ensure you’re never too far from the picturesque Pacific, you’ll also enjoy a seaside retreat in a two-story, open-air beach palapa that’s equipped with a day bed, a swing, a Bose speaker and butler service so you can unwind in style.

      Hong Kong
Put the pedal to the metal during the 2019 Hong Kong E-Prix, the fifth edition of this Formula E championship race along the city’s Central Harbourfront.

On March 10, watch as 22 drivers speed around a mile-long track in all-electric cars — a sustainable way to take in this high-octane pastime — and relish in live music, street eats and autograph sessions surrounding the main event.

Between laps, you’ll find no shortage of ultra-luxe accommodations. Right across the street from the venue, Five-Star Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong offers a sensational Five-Star spa and a cluster of renowned restaurants.

To escape the action, head across the harbor to The Peninsula Hong Kong, a regal Five-Star getaway with its own fleet of Rolls-Royce Phantoms to chauffeur you around in style.

      New Orleans
March means Mardi Gras in the Big Easy, when the historic city comes alive with larger-than-life parades, festivals and entertainment.

Held annually on Fat Tuesday (March 5 this year, though the festivities have been in full swing since January), the massive annual celebration is a bucket-list-worthy experience that calls for colorful costumes, king cakes and lots of beads and doubloons tossed from floats.

Live it up in the French Quarter by booking a room at Hotel Monteleone, a Forbes Travel Guide Recommended Beaux Arts beauty just a block from Bourbon Street. With its rooftop pool, Spa Aria and legendary Carousel Bar, the storied stay provides a soothing respite from the revelry just outside.
