Since César Ritz opened it in 1898, Ritz Paris has radiated opulence. French architect Charles Mewes designed the storied property to look like the palaces of Versailles and Fontainebleau, and inside the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel, you’ll find sparkling chandeliers, intricate molding, sumptuous fabrics and extraordinary details like bathroom sinks with gold swan-shaped faucets.
Yet, the Ritz Paris balances the grandeur with timeless elegance, modern sophistication and warm service. And this formula translates well to social media, which is why it won Forbes Travel Guide’s 2025 Hotel Instagram of the Year prize as part of the annual Star Awards.
For the sixth annual award, the editorial department sought feeds with personality, wanderlust-inducing content and a beautiful aesthetic. It chose five nominees (including Conrad Orlando; Hotel das Cataratas, A Belmond Hotel, Iguassu Falls; Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo; and Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como) from the most popular hotel posts on FTG’s Instagram account in 2024. Readers and followers then selected the winner via an online survey.
