3 Ways To Travel In Style For NY Fashion Week

The streets of Manhattan are pretty snazzy anytime. Twice a year, though, the Lower West Side, Chelsea and all of the borough’s other fashion-forward corners manage to turn even more heads for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Though most of the energy surrounding this fall’s showcase (September 4-11) will center around Lincoln Center and nearby white tents, the rest of the city will strut its stuff, too, through other vogueish displays, trunk shows and lavish events. Here are three Forbes Travel Guide Star-Rated hotels that prove to be models of exquisiteness thanks to their Fashion Week-centered packages and parties.

      Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC

Since you probably don’t have Nicole Miller or Donna Karan’s number in your iPhone, you’ve already come to the conclusion that you won’t be on the guest list for their oh-so-private shows. Before dropping your head in defeat, you should know there are still solid chances to rub shoulder bags with the fashionable set. On September 4-5, this Forbes Travel Guide Recommended hotel is hosting the Hi-Speed Blogger Retreat at its rooftop Plunge Bar + Lounge from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. As the name suggests, registration for the two-day event is only open to working fashion media. However, when activities conclude, anyone is free to come up, overhear the leftover industry gossip and take in one of the city’s best-looking views.

      Trump SoHo New York

When Chloé, one of the world’s most respected names in high fashion, decided to collaborate with a New York City hotel for an exclusive shopping opportunity, it went with Trump SoHo, a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star property that emanates a style and downtown aesthetic on par with the fashion line’s latest ensembles. With the Chloé Curated Shopping Experience (available through September 30), suave guests will be chauffeured in a Mercedes town car from the hotel (room stay is separate) to the Chloé boutique on Greene Street, where they will be guided by a stylist through the brand’s fall 2014 and winter runway collections full of long-sleeve day dresses, leather hoodies and other traffic-stopping pieces. With a $2,500 purchase, you also get a gift (perfume, accessory or jewelry) to complete your look.

      Langham Place, Fifth Avenue

Guys, think you’ll feel inspired to tidy up your closet after seeing fellows walk the runways at Richard Chai or Lacoste’s shows? If that’s a “yes,” come back to this Forbes Travel Guide Recommended property next month to be a part of the Langham Place Savile Row package, an exclusive opportunity where you can meet with someone from Richard James Savile Row, one of the globe’s preeminent names in suit making. Beyond a private consultation and bespoke tailoring, however, the polished promotion also includes luxe accommodations, a 60-minute Executive Indulgence treatment, a personal assistant, pressing of up to five items upon check-in and much more. While the deal isn’t available until October 10-16, the wait affords you an opportunity to scout the Fashion Week catwalks and visualize the perfect garment in your head.
