      Kim Foley MacKinnon is the Boston correspondent for Forbes Travel Guide and an award-winning editor and author. MacKinnon is a travel and food writer with several New England guidebooks to her credit, including 100 Things to Do on Cape Cod And the Islands Before You Die.

      The past president of the Society of American Travel Writers, MacKinnon graduated with a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Massachusetts Boston, with minors in anthropology and American studies. As a student, she interned at the Boston Globe, where she was later employed and still writes for on occasion.
