Kim Foley MacKinnon is the Boston correspondent for Forbes Travel Guide and an award-winning editor and author. MacKinnon is a travel and food writer with several New England guidebooks to her credit, including 100 Things to Do on Cape Cod And the Islands Before You Die.

She is a past president of the Society of American Travel Writers and the executive editor of Girl Camper Magazine, a quarterly publication focused on all things outdoors, which won a prestigious Lowell Thomas award in 2023. MacKinnon graduated with a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Massachusetts Boston, with minors in anthropology and American studies. As a student, she interned at the Boston Globe, where she was later employed and still writes for on occasion.
