Circa Resort & Casino made a big splash in October, opening during unprecedented times for both Las Vegas and the hospitality industry, with a long list of superlative amenities — the longest bar in Nevada, the biggest sportsbook in the world, the first adults-only resort in town, the best pool for sports fans and the tallest building north of the Strip. With this buzz came a sense of renewed excitement and enthusiasm from avid Las Vegas travelers eager to get back into the action. But that was only five floors of the experience.
Just months later, Circa is ready for its next close-up with the debut of its rooms and suites and its crown jewel, the rooftop bar Legacy Club. As the curtain draws on the 458-foot hotel tower, it marks the final opening phase of the first new ground-up resort project in downtown Las Vegas in four decades.
Who Needs Sleep?
While Las Vegas is not known for turning in early, Circa guests might reevaluate that proposition if only to continue the party upstairs at one of the 777 rooms, a lucky number that comes as no accident. Each of Circa’s four room types will make you feel like King or Queen Midas with design accents swathed in gold that recall a vintage glam era of Vegas.
Starting with the best, the six Founders suites are the top accommodation (literally) and ring the resort’s upper three floors. With an unobstructed view of the entire city and two bedrooms plus an entertaining space spread over more than 1,800 square feet, these are the new digs in town in which to celebrate a birthday, a bachelorette party or even just a luxe weekend getaway for the sports lover.
A cold beverage is never very far from hand at Circa, and in a Founders suite, you’ll have your own bar, electric fireplace, black quartz dining room table beneath a custom chandelier for meals served from the resort’s restaurants, such as steaks from Barry’s Downtown Prime or pastrami sandwiches from Saginaw’s Delicatessen.
Bunk Up
Capitalizing on the popular bunk bed trend found at hotels in urban areas, Circa dives into the action with the Vegas version. It is an ultimate party crash pad at either 713 square feet with two bunk beds or 1,362 square feet with four. And just like the other room types, there is always a place to have a drink or watch the game through the sweeping windows that not only overlook the skyline but also the resort pool deck Stadium Swim.
Another first-to-market room category is the 360-degree Studio accommodation with a king bed placed in the middle of the space and floor-to-ceiling windows that give you a vantage point of the massive screens below. You don’t even have to get out of bed to be a part of the action.
Making Suites Even Sweeter
Draped in velvety midnight blues, a Circa suite is like your own personal nightclub — there is even banquette seating and a party nook. With one bedroom, a dining room and wet bar area with a refrigerator and 65-inch TVs in every room, it’s impossible to miss a play, so bet big to win big at Circa Sports and let the fun unfold.
In case you have guests, some suites even have an extra bed that pops out of the wall.
Standardized to Perfection
At 403 to 752 square feet, even the standard accommodations at Circa rewrite the playbook on hospitality in Las Vegas. Every room has a Serta Prestige king mattress as well as mini-refrigerators, dual vanities, walk-in showers and a digital tablet for controlling the lights, checking restaurant menus and booking reservations.
Decked out in navy and sapphire, geometric-patterned carpets make the custom art installations found throughout from local creators pop just a little bit more. Whimsical Jelaine Faunce wall graphics in the bathroom pay homage to the dancing dealers of retro Vegas with cascading poker chips and dice. The bathroom lighting is selfie sublime, and the rounded-edge mirrors are perfect for that elusive full-body Boomerang.
When It’s Really Time to Play
True rooftop lounge experiences in Las Vegas are few, and none exist downtown. Circa’s offering, Legacy Club, ticks all the boxes. The elegant bar and lounge, which is accessible by its own express elevators off the casino floor, features both plush indoor couches and outdoor spaces with fire pits, a panoramic view of the city and a cocktail menu led by classic sips.
It’s called Legacy Club because it honors the city’s founding fathers — such as Benny Binion, Bob Stupak, Jay Sarno, Bill Bennett, Kirk Kerkorian, Howard Hughes and others from the pantheon of Las Vegas casino bosses — with a stately collection of 11 custom metal busts in their likenesses and vintage photographs shown throughout. Don’t miss a classic black and white shot of former Las Vegas mayor and famed defense attorney Oscar Goodman and his wife, current Las Vegas mayor, Carolyn Goodman.
Electro-swing music sets the tone for the night and Mother Nature does the rest with a full-scale show of her stunning desert sunsets. For another photo op, Circa owner Derek Stevens installed 1,000 ounces of pure Circa-branded gold bars in a case within Legacy Club with a ticker atop the display to show their combined value based on the latest price of gold.
At the swanky bar — also gold, if you couldn’t guess — sip on Circa’s Desert Sunset Martini, a take on renowned bartender Salvatore Calabrese’s famed breakfast martini, with its orange marmalade replaced with a white peach puree, making it well-suited for evening.
The best way to experience Legacy Club is by booking the Sunset Package timed to the evening’s specific sunset hour. Beginning 30 minutes prior to sundown, this reservation includes outdoor fire pit seating for two to 12 people, two specialty cocktails and a champagne toast when the sun sinks.
The suites, rooms and Legacy Club at Circa bring the good-time vibe full circle in downtown.
