Foodie-friendly restaurants, architectural landmarks, Lake Michigan, top-notch shopping — there are many reasons to book a trip to the Windy City. But Chicago is also home to some impressive suites at luxe hotels. We’ve weeded through the stack of properties to show you four hotels that boast particularly brilliant suites:
Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago
This Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel really knows how to woo its guests. Those staying in Trump’s suites (which start at 1,080 square feet) will arrive to a fully functioning kitchen, complete with a Sub-Zero fridge, Miele dishwasher and Bernardaud china. Two full baths make it easy to achieve privacy if you’re staying with a group, and views of the city are unbelievable. Planning a romantic gesture is easy, too, with the option of an in-suite chef for special occasions.
With its design aesthetic inspired by Coco Chanel, it comes as no surprise that suites at Four-Star Waldorf Astoria Chicago (formerly the Elysian) are a lesson in all things chic. The Gold Coast property’s suites feature generously sized 42-inch flat-screen TVs, furnished balconies and elegant décor such as mirrored coffee tables and plush sofas. The Presidential Suite is the crème de la crème of rooms at the hotel, featuring two terraces, a full kitchen, a media room and a living room with a fireplace.
Space certainly won’t be an issue at this Five-Star hotel. Suites at The Peninsula Chicago range from 793 square feet up to 3,000 square feet, giving you a pampered home-away-from-home feel. Separate living rooms, French doors and views of Michigan Avenue, the historic Water Tower and Chicago Avenue and Rush Street are just some of the perks of staying here. If you opt for the 18th-floor Peninsula Suite, expect to find a private outdoor terrace, gas fireplace, exercise room and grand piano.
Choose from two different views (lake or city) during a stay in the suites at Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. The Five-Star hotel offers seven types of suites that are decked out with soothing cream hues and accented with colors such as purple, gray and green. The Author Suite on the 46th floor boasts personalized book editions from cultural big shots like Stephen King, Margaret Thatcher and Anne Rice, while the Presidential Suite comes equipped with its own private workout room (complete with a treadmill, an elliptical and Pilates mats) and a full private bar.
